Hi Darlings!
You’re back from holiday and yourskin looks still golden and glowy (we assume you used high SPF everyday and everytime…Did you?).We know you feel more beautiful with your light and natural tan that makes you feel like your still on holidays. But now how to maintain it?
Don’t you worry, the DARLING team is here for you. Follow this little guide your beloved tan will never leave you!
1. Go easy on the hot water
As first step this fall do not go too far with hot water. As the weather gets colder you will switch to warmer showers and baths. Unfortunately with a very hot shower is more likely that your tan will fade away. So try to keep the shower temperature as low as you can manage to help your skin looking fresh and sun-kissed.
2.Moisturize heavily
When you expose your skin to the sun, it tends to become dry very quickly, even if you protected your skin with sunscreen all summer long. Moisturize is the key point in the skincare schedules. It’s a simple step: you only have to use an hydrating lotion after the shower or ashower oil. If you feel a little more creative you can use a tinted body lotion, like Jennifer Lopez does every day. She told to Allure “Usually, I just wear Scott Barnes Body Blinginstead of a self tanner. Is lighter and leaves my skin more natural”
3. Soft with the Exfoliation
After long days spent bathing under the sun in that beautiful tropical island, your skin will no doubt have been stressed by the UV rays. This will create an accumulation of dead skin cells on the surface. In order to eliminate these impurities while still maintaining your tan, there is nothing better than regular exfoliation. Exfoliating your skin two to three times per week can help prolong your tan and even give more intensity to your golden skin. Keep in mind to exfoliate as gentle as possible in order to prevent skin damage.
A little D tip: In the fall coffee’s scrub are the best!
4. Protect your skin
Do not forget that the UVA and UVB rays keep damaging your skin even in the fall. Wearing SPFis always the best way to preserve your skin. It will help hydrate and if you choose the right one, it will also give a boost of anti-oxidants to your skin.
5. Eat foods rich in beta-carotene
A fanny tip to prolong your tan is to add specific dishes on your diet. To keep your darker skin longer you can include in your schedule fruits and veggies rich in beta-carotene. This is a pigment that encourages the production of melanin. They are for example carrots, tomatoes, apricots and chicories.
6. Every season is self tan season
Fake tan is much easier to apply when you already have a tan.Kylie Jenner knows it well cause in the fall she never leaves home without a cloud of self tanner on her face and décolleté.
She stated : “You spray it, leave it overnight, and it makes your face tan again,” she explained.
